Paros is, and has been for many a year, one of our most popular destinations and it is not difficult to see why.  Its picturesque harbours, the traditional villages, the beautiful beaches and its intense nightlife make Paros one of the best choices for summer vacations. As a classic island, Paros is full of white houses, which are surrounded by the red of the flowers, the green of the vines, the golden of its sandy beaches and the blue of its clear waters.

Capital and main port of the island is Paroikia. You should try a small walk at the graphic streets of the old city with the white camaras, the terraces and the churches.
Visit the Medieval Castle as well as the church of Christ that is situated in it. At Paroikia is also the Holy Temple of Virgin Mary of Ekatontapyliani (or Katapoliani) that was built by Saints Eleni and Constantine.

At the north of the island is the fish village Naousa, the most famous and place of Paros. Through to its white pavements that are surrounded by traditional houses and churches, you will go to the small harbour of Naousa. At its entry are ruins of the Castle that was built in the 15th century by Samaripas. The multicoloured small boats and the white houses make a unique landscape.

At the center of Paros is located the highest village of Paros, Lefkes. Its white houses, the churches and the pavements are combined harmonically with the eucalyptuses and the olive trees. There are the ancient quarries of marble from which was made the famous statues Venus of Milos and Hermis of Praxitelis. Marpisa and Dryos are two other villages of Paros, worthy to be visited.

Interesting places
The Medieval Castle, at the coastal hill, over the port of Paroikia.

The Holy Temple of Virgin Mary Ekatontapyliani, at Paroikia, that is said to have taken its name from the one hundred gates that it had. The church is built in traditional cycladic style.

The house where Manto Mavroyenous, a Greek heroin, died, at Paroikia.

The carved places for the boats of ancient Paros, at the coastal Dryos.

The hundreds of white churches that are scattered everywhere in the island, shows the intense religious spirit of its residents.

Getting around Paros Island
couldn't be easier - Many agencies hire cars, motorbikes, scooters or bicycles and explore using the tarmac road which takes you all around the island. If you prefer, sit back and enjoy the ride by using the excellent air conditioned bus service, taxis or privately organised coach trips. As you travel you will see tantalising glimpses of village life, beautiful beaches, and on clear days phenomenal views of distant islands as well as our beautiful neighbouring islands of Naxos to the east and Antiparos to the west. A major benefit of having a peripheral coast road circumnavigating the island is easy access to every part of Paros. This enables travellers to discover different places outside the towns and find their own favourite part of the island. It could be a deserted cove, a special taverna, an interesting festival, a small village resort or simply a view that takes your breath away.

There is always something new to see and accommodation is never far away. This natural dispersal of travellers means that paros rarely gives the impression of being crowded.
